Tea

I forgot my passion for tea – ever since my love affair with JJ Bean began about six months ago.  In 2000, I made special blends for my family for Christmas.  In 2001 I threw a tea-themed bridal shower.  I accumulated quite a collection of tea tins, now empty.  My favourite place in Vancouver used to be the Granville Island tea co.  But alas, all of that was temporarily forgotten.

Until yesterday, my morning jog took me down to Sweet Cherubim on Commercial where I loaded up on organic ingredients: hawthorn berries, catnip, oatstraw, chamomile, rosehips, lemon grass, lemon balm, skullcap, St. John’s wort, a big hunk of organic ginger, and fennel.  Sadly, I had to leave a few behind including nettle, clover, dandelion, and ginseng.  Now all my tins are full again, and I have a good reason to skip the lattes.  I can concoct tea to lift my mood, stop a sniffle, and soothe the stomach – so come by for a cup for whatever ails you.
