Dark

What I like about darkness in art is contrast. I love what happens in camera raw when I give that bottom left quadrant of the curves a little tug down. I like this painting (above left) that was created on panel starting with black gesso, the way the lighter colours look on top of it. The way the ink is contrasting against the rough background. I love the way the night sky looks in contrast to the brilliant full moon. Nighttime is a time of rest and mystery, and as a mother of young children, it’s the time I get to do a few creative things!
