Curtis got to meet Jeff Wall yesterday. As a commercial photography assistant, he has met quite a few famous people, but usually just actors. Jeff Wall is in a completely different league. Curtis assisted in a shoot for the New York Times covering Wall’s upcoming exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

I couldn’t suppress my delight today when walking through the downtown eastside–not usually a hope inspiring place–I noticed a branch weighed down with pink buds, ready to emerge. This winter has felt very long for me, and the evenings so dark. It’s so good to know spring is coming. My tarragon and chives are also sending up verdant shoots already. On Saturday we rode our bikes to Granville Island and smelled the fresh sea air.
