Birdsong in April

I’m starting to see signs of spring. Birds hopping everywhere, buds welling up on spindly branches, light-filled leaves. I wanted to write something on this art journal page, but all my words have already been penned by Wendell Berry! Every time I pick up his book, “A Timbered Choir,” I am drawn in by the presence of the simple enjoyment of nature, the delight in birdsong and leaves and the course of the seasons. After a rough day, it was good to finally break the painting hiatus with this page.
