Despite being married to a professional photographer, I am still a point-and-shoot photographer. And sometimes my favourite pictures are those taken out the car window. There is something about the motion blur and lack of control that I enjoy. I never know if I’m actually going to capture the scene or not, as it flies by. Unfortunately I didn’t remember the camera phone until after we drove parallel to this amazing flock of white geese for a few minutes, contrasting against the blue mountains.
Perhaps the main thing I like about these snapshots is the essence of the moment is caught, kind of like the watercolour I would probably paint from my memory of this drive. We decided to go to another country today, just because we haven’t for about four year. We drove down to Bellingham on a rainy stormy February day.
